Hi – I have a custom map created with Google My Maps where I uploaded a KML file to display elements. Is there a way to display this as the map in GeoDirectory instead of the standard Google Map? The custom Google Map add-on looks to be just for styling features. Thanks!

    Hello,

The two maps would not be able to work together, no.

You could export the MyMaps data and import it as listings, though.

Or you could simply display your map on a page with the embed code.

Thanks, Alex. I assume your answer is based on the out-of-box functionality. In theory, could this be achieved through custom development?

The MyMaps data is more shape based and wouldn’t really work as listings. The idea is to have the listing pins on top of a map that shows the custom shapes. Thanks again.

    Hello,

GeoDirectory is highly optimized for display of large amounts of point data.

GeoDirectory doesn’t use shape data in any way at this time. That said there is a saying that “anything is possible with custom code”, so when you start going down that road, let us know and we will help point you at any of our hooks that might be useful.
