    Hello,

I have a Geodirectory website that has several custom post types. At present I have renamed the “places” CPT and called it “Select Trade” as it appeared that there was only one trade.

I have placed the “select trade” CPT at position 1 so it highlights to the user that there is more than one trade and they can select from a list.

The problem I have is if someone presses search button without choosing a trade, it shows the 1 post that I had to create to display the wording Select Trade.

Is it is possible to have a ‘blank’ (i.e. not a searchable function) first entry that I can add in so the user knows what they need to do. This would be similar to the ‘choose option’ wording that appears in the category selector dropdown menu?

    Thanks

    Nigel

    Hi Nigel,

That is not the intended use for the CPT select.
Do you not think if a select says “Plumber” they might think to change it if they are looking for an electrician?
