Custom post type listing issues

Hi,

I’m looking for some help regarding the custom post type listings widget.

I’ve started using it on the home page and like the look of the buttons and the fact it links through to that post type, what I was wanting though was for the search bar on the linked page to search the categories under that cpt.

I was wrong it appears and when I use the custom post type category widget it looks a mess on the home page.

Am I missing something or does the cpt listing widget simply not work in the way I want?
