I am using the Custom Sidebars Plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-sidebars/ which worked perfectly with GeoDirectory V1. But with GeoDirectory V2 I seem to be experiencing problems where GeoDirectory will only use the Default Sidebar.

As an example on the Detail Page.
I have set up a new detail page for the ‘Places’ – GD Detail Place and on this page selected a sidebar ‘GD Detail Sidebar Place’ when I view the page the sidebar is showing correctly.

However, when I go to Places > Settings > General > Details Page and set this to GD Detail Place the sidebar automatically changes to the default sidebar. There must be something in GeoDirectory that forces it to use the default sidebar.

So my question is, what do I have to do to stop The new version of GeoDirectory overriding the custom sidebars and stop it using the default sidebar?

    Best Regards
    Neil

    Hi Kiran

I have done some initial testing and so far it seems to work. Although most of the custom sidebars have to have the GD widgets put back in.

Could you tell me what changes you made so that I can document it please.

    Best Regards
    Neil

    Hi Guys

Sorry to come back to you again. The fix works well for the Detail Pages and the correct sidebars now get rendered.

I have hit the same problem with the Archive Pages.
I have set up a page called ‘GD Archive Place’ and within this set the sidebar to ‘GD Archive Sidebar’ .
In Places > Settings > General I have set the Archive Page to ‘GD Archive Place’

However when I look at the link ‘https://www.randomreview.info/places/’as an example the sidebar used is the default one.

Is it possible there is a fix available for the Archive pages in the same way the Detail Page was fixed?

    Best Regards
    Neil
