I am using the advanced search add-on on category pages. The problem is that when the visitor arrives at the particular category page, the advanced search includes a filter for categories even though they are already on the category page, which is confusing. They will need to filter out other categories again. I only want the search to include those listings for that category.

    Hello!

You can remove category from the Advanced Search at GD > Advanced Search

Thanks, I fixed that. But because two of my three place categories are not location-specific. They provide services online. Is there a way to hide the “Near” filter for the category pages for those two categories?

    Hello!

You can disable the Near functionality

GeoDirectory >> Advance Search and disable:

    1) If an option is selected, the autocompleter for Near is enabled.
    2) If this option is selected, users will not be auto geolocated on first load.
    3) If this option is selected, users will be asked if they with to be geolocated via a popup

Here is what I need to do:

    1. On my Place Category Pages, I have a search section at the top. When someone goes to a Place Category page, I only want the search results to show places(listings) IN THAT CATEGORY. I have a site that provides three categories of therapy — In-Person (location specific), Online (not location specific), and Worldwide (not location specific)

    2. For the non-location specific categories, I want to disable the “Near” field in search section on these pages BUT ONLY FOR THESE CATEGORY PAGES. I still want it on the homepage.

How do I do that? Right now the system is delivering results from other categories.

    Hello!

Unfortunately those aren’t possible without a major customization outside of support.

You can choose from some of the common snippets below and search the forums for other hints.

If you want to hire a GD developer to implement this for you we recommend you check out https://geodirectoryexperts.com
