default category keywords

    Hi,
    I need to set some common keywords for all the places belonging to a particular category. Is there any way of doing that? In other words I would like to have the chance to have category tags so that searching is facilitated. As it is at the moment, for instance, if you have registered your category with a singular name you won’t get any place of that category when you search the category plural name…
    Category description field could be used for a such a purpose.
    Is it something can be done easily? Do you think to include a such a functionality in a next release or is it something to be done only via custom change?

    Hi,

    I would suggest making your category names plural and then if a user ever searches for the singualr term it will also show as we do a search like this: (wp_terms.name LIKE”%hotel%”

    Hi Stiofa,
    I would say that your suggestion works if your language is English…but in other languages (italian for instance) it doesn’t work. Then I would like to add more than just the singular name as default category tags. Does it require a customization? Can we use the cat description, including this field in the search?

    Tags work for a specific place. I would like to have category tags that automatically applies to all the places within that category. Is there any way of doing that?

    There is no such thing as category tags in wordpress.

    I know…that’s why I ws thinking if there is some way to include the category description field in the search. Do you think is it a feasible customization?

    Everything is feasible, but this will require to rewrite all search queries.
