    Hey guys,

When I’m testing the Add listing function I’m running into issues with the category box. I have eliminated all but a single category. I only want the one. When I hit the drop down to select it things look fine, but after I select it I get the box that you see in the attached image. I’d love to simply autofill the category field with the one available option. I’d assume that’s what it should do when I have it set as the default in the Place Categories section, but something weird is happening.

And no, I can’t share my credentials at the moment because wordpress is having credentialing issues with me at the moment, but I did extend an invite to open an admin account to the gdsupport account (albiet accidentally).

    Thanks,
    Jonathan

    Hi Jonathan,

I’d like to clarify that categories cannot be added manually on the frontend. It has to be done by the Website “Administrator” on the backend and you’ll need to insert a map marker for the category as mentioned here https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/guide-to-setting-up-your-geodirectory-website/#listing .

    Thanks!

I am going to point to this thread again, here.

Can you be more specific about what would suit your needs?

Ok you have options for different category selectors in GeoDirectory > Place Settings. Click the category field on the right hand side of the screen and select anything but Ajax chained.

    Hope this help!

    Let us know.

    Thanks

Yes! Thank you Paolo, I knew it had to be a setting. Thanks for pointing the way.

Thanks Alex. I avoided the autofill for 2 reasons. First, I’m not a coder, so frankly I’m the type who will avoid making a code change if I can help it. But truthfully I knew that I was looking for had to be a standard functionality. I just didn’t know where to look.

    Thanks!
    Jonathan
