display category description on homepage – possible ?

    is it possible to display the category descriptions in the homepage list of categories?

    maybe a shortened version of each? (limited to X characters, then …)

    i checked the CPT category widget and i didn’t see any checkbox, for example, to enable/disable showing the category descrip in the cat list

    the category description only appears in the related catgeory page.

    think anyone might do this as a gd job?

    would love to display a short cat descrip under each cat name on the homepage (but not in small devices)
