Hi, I’m looking to buy a Directory plugin, but I need one that integrates with the WordPress-Users database. I’ve tried the Web2.0 Directory plugin but it doesn’t suit our requirements because it creates its own set of user accounts (members/subscribers) which are separate from the standard WordPress Users.
When a new user registers on a WPgeo Directory are they added to the WP-Users database?

My site uses several plugins which use the core WP-Users database, for example; we have a particular registration form which uses conditional-logic, this form uses GravityForm’s User Registration Add-on. Also WooCommerce Customers are integrated into the WP-Users database as user-type ‘Customer’ – we need those customers to have profiles in the geoDirectory.

Can anyone comment on whether WPgeo is suitable for this site’s requirements?

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

I’d like you to know that GD plugin uses the standard WordPress User registration. Which means all user details can be found inside User > All Users in the WordPress dashboard. So I think it is compatible with the “WP-Users database”. Anyway, you can easily try this out since GD core plugin is free to use.

    Thanks!

Hi, Thanks for the reply confirming the WP-Users data.

I have a few more questions which I couldn’t find answers to in documentation

    1. can the fields in the Registration form be customised to provide additional search criteria such ‘Business Specialities’ selected by tick-boxes?

    2. Can some of the Registration-form fields be kept hidden from the front-end listing (for site Admin and Listing-owners only to see)?

    3. Is there a Spreadsheet template available for me to create an import CSV for all our existing Business members to be imported? Does this allow logo/image urls?

    4. If I can import Listings, can the ‘Owner’ of the listing be kept to the WP-User associated with the listing or will they all be assigned to the site Admin during import?

    5. Is there an email reminder option for alerting a Member that their subscription is due for renewal, 1 month, 2 week, 1 day prior to the Expiry date?

I’ve installed the plugin and am testing other features, I hope you can help with these questions.

    Hi,

    1. If you mean the user registration form, we don’t handle that part. If you mean the listings submission form, yes you can create as many custom fields as you wish and used them as extra search filters, if you have the advance search add-on installed.

    2. I believe you refer to the listings submission form and no that is not possible.

    3. You can download it from within the plugin, go to GeoDirectory >> Import / Export.

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-export/

    4. You can assign any author ID previously created to listings before importing them.

    5. There is only one reminder, not 3 and you can set when to send it out.

    Thank you,

    2. You can achieve that by not displaying the field anywhere when creating the custom field, so it will only be available to view by the owner of the listing whey they choose to edit their listing, but it will not show anywhere on the site ever.
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-place-settings/#show

    5. In the next update of Payment Manager there will be 3 reminders possible up to 60 days (I am 99.99% sure that is correct, so we can check with the developers if need be).
