    Some of my clients have tried using Dropbox links to show their videos in the Video tab in the listings. But when they do that, it only shows the text, not the actual video itself like when you enter a Youtube or Vimeo URL.

    Is there a way to have the Dropbox video link display as an actual video in the listing?

    Dropbox would be a customization for GD.

    GD supports the core WP oEmbed providers and Dropbox isn’t on that list:
    https://codex.wordpress.org/Embeds#Whitelisting_an_oEmbed_Provider_in_Core

    I looked into it a bit, seems like there is some ‘discovery’ required that may be preventing dropbox from being added as a core provider.

    OK good to know. I looked at installing that plugin but it’s 9 years old. A little scary. I think I’ll leave the site as is for now.
