We have noticed the Edit button under a profiles avatar only appears when logged in as an admin.

At first we thought this only happens if a profile has been claimed, but discovered it is missing from all profiles. When you are not logged in the edit button disappears. Why does this happen?

The edit button is only available to logged in users, and only to admins or listing owners.

If a listing is claimed, then the author/owner of the listing, when logged in, can see the edit button and edit.

    Hello,

if the listing was claimed, was the claim approved?

If a new listing is added, and marked as claimed when it is created, is the edit button visible?

Try those and if there is still an issue yes we can check the settings, just make a private reply with WP Admin credentials.

I can’t login w the credentials, please validate and repost.

I don’t know of a way to accommodate the not allowing of a claim at one point and allowing it at another point.

I assume that means you have set the claim field to be excluded? Or admin only? Neither setting will be compatible with the listing owner being able to actually claim the listing. The field should be included in every package, set to active, and not admin only.

    Please check now.
I don’t see a cache plugin installed, you may want to check with your host about how to clear cache.

    Alex,

I thought cache plugins did not work well with Geodirectory. Do you know of one that works well with GeoDirectory?

    Alex,

Thank you! The edit button and delete icon is active. Can you send me a private email back letting me know how you resolved the problem.

I think you mean ‘is active’.

I updated the listing and they showed up. It was not possible to get the cache to clear any other way.

I also added GD Author Actions to the sidebars so you have a second edit link in the sidebar.

Like I said, try contacting your host. Maybe they can flush cache for you if that happens again.
