Hi. I set up a listing yesterday for a new client. I was not given the opportunity to set a password and assumed the system sent one out when the listing was created.

The clients have asked me to make some changes for them on the listing and when I look at their ‘Place’ listing the only information available to me for editing is their description area and images.

How do I edit their other signup information? I need to be the superadmin and be able to access all the parts of all the listings in the system. Otherwise I have to go in via another browser, and have to ask the user for their password, which is extra steps.

    Hi,

admin can edit all informations of all listings from both front and back end.

When you add a listing for a client, do you do it from your admin account? Or you also create a user for the customer using their email address?

Please provide all the infos we need and possible the link of the listing and admin credentials and we will have a look at your case.

    Thanks

Hi, I think I figured it out – was a toggle I didn’t see. Duh.

However, new issue – if the listing is entered as a ‘place’ is there a way for me to switch it to a different type of listing, ie. accommodation, event, tour?

    Hi again,

you can move it by exporting the post type for the listings you want to edit (GeoDirectory >> Imoprt / Export), edit the post_type from gd_place to gd_accommodation or whatever CPT where you want the listing to be moved, than re-import with the option to update the listings.

    Thanks

Hi, but won’t that export ALL places and import ALL into accommodation, or do I export the file, open it and remove any that aren’t accommodation and then import? Will all the links and images all still work?

    Hi,

it will export all listing of the selected custom post type.

Open the file, delete all listings that you don’t need to update from the CSV.

Edit the listings that you want to update leaving post_id and only changing the post_type. Leave the rest unchanged and re-import (selecting update listings if post id is avaiable).

That will change the URL of the listing because you are changing post type and there is nothing you can do about that. However the listing will show exactly what it was showing before changing CPT.

    Thanks
