    Hi Team,

I have had such a hard time trying to find out how to get the popup contact (inquiries) emails to the recipients gmail inbox instead of the spam folder.

It appears to be related to the email syntax because if I send a plain text message to the same gmail address it gets delivered but when it comes from GD notifications it won’t go through (perhaps fields like inquiring user email address in the field?).

I checked some of your knowledge base and have already tried without success:
    1) Changing the subject of the message
    2) Including another SPF (https://support.google.com/a/answer/33786), btw DKIM is already on.
    3) Changing the body of the message reducing links, etc.

Your help will be pretty much appreciated since it hurts the usability of the site (users submit inquiries to listing owners but never hear back).

    Thanks,
    Eduardo

Are you using a domain email like ‘contact@mydomain.com’

Hi Alex, it is ventas@domain.com but remember it doesn’t block it unless it comes from Geodirectory, a regular message goes through.

    Thanks

    @eduardo,

I would first inspect the email header of the SPAM indexed email. Depending on the antispam system it is adding information about the indexing process to the header.

    Best,
    Dirk

Emails going to spam can always be a nightmare, i would highly recommend signing up for a developer account here which is free and gives you 15k email per month free https://www.sparkpost.com/pricing/

I use them on all my sites with great success.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

    Thank you Stiofan, Dirk,

One last question, if I want to troubleshoot removing customer email, or phone number, is there a snippet I can use to test if that is the issue affecting?

Anyway I will try the suggestions above and appreciate them.

The actual GD contact form has been removed in GDv2, it can be added via a form builder in GDv2 which will give you access to be able to add/remove any fields you want.
Even if you make the spam think work for one email provider it might not work for them all, as i said the best solution i have found is sparkpost, it very consistently delivers and is not marked as spam.

    Hi Stiofan,

I tried Sparkpost (through their plugin) and didn’t have much luck.

I had a few things to tune up and now using mail-tester.com I get a 10/10 when sending from a regular mail client like from Mac using the same mail account and sending to either gmail or hotmail with great consistency on delivering to mailbox (https://www.mail-tester.com/web-q6tc3).

The problem comes when it is from the contact-form from GD where the score goes down to 5.9/10 as you can see in https://www.mail-tester.com/web-ld9ow where the main issues are:
-2.503 FREEMAIL_FORGED_REPLYTO Freemail in Reply-To, but not From (I believe there is no workaround for this since it is due to the nature of the contact form)
-0.635 HTML_MIME_NO_HTML_TAG HTML-only message, but there is no HTML tag
Your message should contain an <html> tag
-1.105 MIME_HTML_ONLY Message only has text/html MIME parts
You should also include a text version of your message (text/plain)

I have been trying to fix it myself and have found a couple of options shown in the following links but I don’t have the technical skills to solve it, could you please help me check if any of the below can be performed?

https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/6114 (“I think #6657, #6658, and #6671 would resolve this. That removes 3.7 points from the score, bringing it down to 2.9. Assuming the site owner has a PTR record configured and the form submitter isn’t using a free mail service, the message would get a 0.”)

    Please advise.

    Thanks,
    Eduardo
