    Hi,

    I am not sure if I have that setup correctly but none of the youtube videos embedded links are showing under my posts: Home > News > videos. If I go to “edit post” I see that the youtube link is under custom fields > video but I don’t know where will show in front end? Can someone please take a look and let me know what is going on? Credentials access will post in the next message!

    Appreciate it.

    Andrew

    Credentials are not working, please double check them.

    In Video fields you should add embed codes, not links.

    Let us know,

    Thanks

    Hi,

    I am not sure where you are getting the video custom field from for blog posts?
    All you need to do is paste the youtube URL (not embed link) in the text and it will auto show the video.

    Did you login there to take a look?

    So, GT blog posts had field box for videos link, remember that? We used add YouTube embedded code in there.

    Once I moved from GT to GD, all embedded YouTube links were added to this “custom field” but you have to login there to see that!!!!

    And now, all blog posts that used have videos, they don’t have any videos anymore, it’s not displaying

    How do we fix that? Are the info from the GT supposed to be place in the correct way in GD?

    Yes i logged in.. Its a new theme and displaying the custom info depends on the theme, you would need to paste the youtube url into the post text where you want it.

    Andrew,

    The region table in GT is empty so this seems to be a problem you had in GT that has been carried over, likely there is ways to automate a lot of the changes for major cities, like if city =x then update region to Y.

    There is no user image problem i can see, user images are not stored on the server.

    For videos, that is how gt did it, now its a new theme and it does not do it like that, WP have moved on and its now much easier to embed videos, things change over time and this is one of them.

    There are too many things to be done so I can have my website running and working properly the way it was in the the GT.

    I did not see any information, in the tutorials, GD YouTube vídeos, bout: Not using region in address, user’s image, or embedded YouTube links in blog posts.

    Perhaps, my bad experience can be useful for other GT website owners like me, but the question is if you guys are willing to to provide new videos or tutorials?

    Anyways, I will create a sub domain in my server to install that website/database info I have right now. I will backup the site and have the GT working for now. I will try to fix all things you said and once we are ready, I can convert in the sub domain

    See if that makes sense????

    Andrew,

    1. There is no user profile image problem, you dont seem to understand this but the images are not stored on your server, if you had different images showing for users before it might be because you used a social login pluign that pulled there images from social sites, this has nothing to do with GD.

    2. If you had no regions in GT which seems to be the case then that is a problem in your GT install that has followed over to GD and you need to fix that, again not a GD fault.

    3. Video custom fields in GT will not show in ANY theme unless its set to do so for that particular theme, embeds have moved on since GT was created and its now much easier to embed with just the video link so the custom field is not needed, again nothing to do with GD, you just have to move with the times.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

    1-Yes sir, I understand that. Since you know better you theme then I do, Can you provide a solution for that?

    2-I got that part as well but you are not providing me instruction in how to fix that, you are just telling me to go import/export GD >listings (nothing else), them what? I ask you before to tell me what I do after export GD > Listing ??? There is a link created for those 4,300+ listings then? IS that too much to ask? Where is it the tutorial or video helping to work with your CSV thing? How do I download that into my work area? How do I open that? Any other special software needed? Then when I am ready to import, what I do? Things like that will be helpful……

    3-I am not sure if you understand my last messages but I never made any “custom fields in GT” for blog posts, I never said that, not sure where you got that from, please explain? All I said is that in GT, it was a field, by default, for you to insert video’s embedded code. I do understand that embeds moved on, got better in WordPress, etc etc but this is not helping me because in my mind I am thinking that all blog post’s data will be transferred from GT to GD but it didn’t!!! I have too many videos and this is not practical as you are saying “just move with times” and none of your information about GT – GD warns about that blog posts embedded codes.

    1. if there is no problem how can i provide a solution?

    2. https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-export/

    3. You can add it back into any theme by editing the blog template and adding the below code above or below the content as u prefer.

    <?php if(get_post_meta($post->ID,'video',true)){?>
                <div class="video_main">
                <?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID,'video',true);?>
                </div>
             <?php }?>
