Enable Email Verification for New Users

    Hi i have query regarding email verification, New Users have access with fake email, Is there a way we can restrict them with email verification. Otherwise whole site will be converted into junkyard.
    At the moment new users have to simply add email & name or choose password and directly acess to site area.

    Atleast a email link has to be sent to email to verify by clikc link. Why can’t we throw spammers at first step rather than able to login and moderate listings by moderators.

    hi,

    there are plenty of plugin allowing you to achieve that. Buddypress will add it by default for example.

    We did it this way to make it faster for users to submit their listings. We think it is more important to make it easy for users to register and submit than make it difficult for spammers. All bots today are able to verify emails anyway…
