End-date of a custom post

Guys,

is it possible to add the option to de-publish a custom post type on a certain date?
Users can enter an end-date for the custom post types. And we (lazy as we are;-) thought that this would automatically lead to the action to depublish the listing after that date. But that doesn’t work like that, we have found out. So now we delete these listings ourselves on a daily routine.

Or did we tweak something wrong with the custom fields?
