We have several listings with expired dates, but they are still showing publicly. We already checked our settings and they are correctly set up to switch the post status to “Draft” upon expiry. But this is not happening and the expired listings remain published.

We also tried running the “Listing expire check” tool but it did not work.

The listings we have were imported from an old website using a different plugin and the expiration dates were set manually by us. We’re wondering if manually setting the expiration date will not expire the listings automatically since no payment was actually made (payment was already completed in the old website). If this is the case, is there anyway we can switch all expired listings to “Draft” without editing their status one by one?

    *edit*

If a package is assigned and the package is set to change listings to draft status, then it should happen when the expiry process is run.

If that is not happening, we can take a look, just share wp admin credentials in a private reply and give us a link to the package you are working with.

You can look for your expired listings in the backend like

    Places -> All

You should be able to see the expired items with passed dates on them, there.

    If a package is assigned
    —> Yes

and the package is set to change listings to draft status,
    –> Yes

then it should happen when the expiry process is run.
    –> No

I will send you the admin access in a private message.

    Hi Ann,

Are you facing this problem for listings with recurring packages or for the listings with non-recurring packages?
Listings with recurring packages are only expired in certain cases. See https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/run-expiry-check-tool-not-working-as-expected/#post-471826

Also expired listings will assign the status to the listing which is set at GeoDirectory > Settings > Pricing > Expired Listing Status.

    Let us lnow.

We imported several hundred listings from an old platform and these listings are assigned a recurring payment package. Since they have not actually gone through the payment process, are you saying the expiry tool won’t work?

They will not be changed to expiry unless they meet one of the cases Kiran referenced. The recommendation is to switch them to a non-recurring package which will expire.
