Feature Request – Sort Search Results

Hi,

I see that there have been numerous requests for the ability to sort search results.

I also understand from developers’ point of view why sort is available only for archives, and not search results.

However, there are many scenarios whereby all the search results are 100% relevant, in the case where no search terms were used, but only filters were used. In that case, every search result would be for e.g. Dining options for Asian cuisine, in the region of California, within the price range of $15 – $30.

The search may return hundreds of results and these results would be useful to a traveller on a budget to be able to sort by say price.

In cases whereby search terms were used, and upon sort would return irrelevant results appearing at the front, it will be intuitive for the website user to know that this sort doesn’t work in this case and to change the sort to “By relevance” instead.

Hence, can I appeal to Paolo and Stiofan to please relook into adding Sort feature into Search Results?
