    Hi,

I have 11 test listings published in my directory. All in the same categories.

One of these is listings is a featured listing.

The featured listing is correctly shown wherever I place a “GD Popular Post View” widget and select “show only featured listings.”

However, in the main listing pages (whether it’s a location page or a category archive page), the featured listing does not appear at the top of the listings.

Per another support thread, I have tried the following:

“Go to GD > Place (or other CPT settings) > Sorting options tab > Add “featured” option from left hand side and set as default.”

This does not change the display of the listings.

I will be selling the “featured” listing positioning as an add-on, so I must get this working before the directory goes live. How can I fix this?

    Thank you!

    Hi,

I can’t find anything wrong in settings, it must be a plugin that is creating a query conflict. Did you try disabling all non GD Plugins momentarily to see if the problem would go away?

    Let us know,

    Thanks

    Hi Paolo,

I did disable every plugin (except for the GD plugins) and the problem persists.

    Thanks,
    Paul

    Hi Paul,

I have checked in backend and seems all settings are correct. We need FTP & Database server details to look into more.
Let us provide FTP details & Database server details to access database.

    Thanks,
    Kitan

    Hi Paul,

    Please check now.

Problem was some listings has incorrect value stored for is_featured field in database table wp_geodir_gd_place_detail. Those listings are 13146 & 13153 & created around on date 2017-04-26 15:00.

How you created those listings? Because these listings must have value 0 or 1 for is_featured field. Currently i have fixed it by replacing 0 for incorrect values.

    Thanks,
    Kiran

    Hi Kiran,

Those entries were among several that I created via CSV import (I downloaded the sample CSV file and groomed my data to conform to the sample file’s structure). The sample CSV file didn’t contain the “is_featured” field.

For subsequent imports, can I add the “is_featured” column to the CSV file, and explicitly set a value of 0 for the field? Hopefully that would prevent this from happening in the future…

    Thanks,
    Paul

    Hi Paul,

Thanks for raising this, we will look and fix if that was the problem.

Yes, you can add is_featured column in sample file and add values 0 or 1.
Also, you can do Export Listings > add/edit listings > Import Listings.

The second option will be best, because it contains all the fields, so no need to add custom field columns.

    Thanks,
    Kiran
