Featured — where is it?

    I see that in the Popular Posts widget -I can sort by “featured”

    But I’m not seeing anywhere that I can edit the “Place” post type to make it “Featured?”

    I created a category “Featured” with slug “featured” and assigned a Place to that category – but nothing changed on the page that outputs the Popular Posts widget.

    Help?

    You are sorting to show featured listings first, it is not the category or post type you are featuring.
    When adding a listing, you’ll have the option to have the listing featured.

    Is this an option in the admin? If so, I’m just not seeing it, I checked the screen options and they’re all checked.

    I’m not seeing it in the Place Information panel

    You need to create a price package for the custom post type.
    Then you will get an extra option when adding a listing in admin, allowing you to set expiry etc.

    And I take it I have to Purchase and Prices extension to do that :-/

    Well, I guess I can just use a “Featured” category for now and only show that category until we’re sure this is the direction we want to go for this.

    It would be nice if that existed without the addon from the admin for those of us who are not (yet) looking to monetize their sites.

    Yes, it needs that addon.
    Have a look at the demo, you’ll see some listings that have a featured banner over them. That is how the sort would work.

    When adding a new place, where do I find the setting to make it a featured listing/place? I can see that the widget let’s me show only by featured listings but cannot determine where on the listing to make it featured. Help! Thank you.
