Functioning WPML/GeoDirectory websites ?

    Hey guys,
    I’m having trouble getting WPML to funny work with GD. I can’t get a listing to appear in both languages and display customized information (pictures, contact info,…) to simultaneously appear in both.

    Does anyone have an example of a fully functioning, multilingual, website I could take a look at ? Just to make sure I’m not aiming for something that is impossible to do.

    HI,

    I’m not sure I understand the problem. What do you mean by: “simultaneously appear in both”?

    Link and credentials would probably help.

    By simultaneously, I mean that if a user claims a listing then changes the info (adds pictures, contact info, etc…), he should only have to do it once for all languages. Instead, what I am seeing, is that each language has its own post ID for the listing, and each post is therefore modified by itself.

    For the link & credentials, I have a programmer trying to figure things out for the moment, so I’ll wait a bit before sharing it here (so he doesn’t get confused in his work process)

    Hi again,

    that is not possible. Each listing is a separate post and WPML simply creates a relationship between them.

    You need to edit 1 by 1.

    Ok, so when Upgrading a listing (by paying $$$), does the user need to technically upgrade both listings, or is it done simultaneously? (I understand that I can always manually upgrade the other associated listing in the other language)

    Does this also mean that reviews added in one language do not count toward the overall rating (average) of all ratings?
    For example, we could have an average rating of 2/5 in FR and an average of 4/5 in EN ?

    Yes, in the database they are 2 separate posts with different content, comments, ratings and so on.

    WPML simply creates a relationship which establish that one is the translation of the other.
