    Hello,

I have two questions. Both pertain to the GD Archive page.

    1. I have strange gaps on my GD Archive page, between what appears to be the Title and Search, the Search and “Loop”, as well as the “Loop” and First Listing. Please see the link below for an example. It may be of my doing when I was trying to edit the GD Archive page. Can you assist me in getting the GD Archive back to having no white space gaps?

    2. Whenever the GD Archive page loads, it always seems to list the places in the same order. If I recall, it appears to list them according to when I posted the places on the site. What I would prefer is that the list is randomized each time the page is loaded. And, if at all possible, I would prefer that the featured places for that category show up first, and after the featured restaurants are shown the rest of the list is randomized. Not sure if the last part is possible, but nothing is gained by not asking. 🙂

    Thank you for your assistance.

It looks like you might have used a text module?

Most themes, if you use a text module, they will insert linebreaks between the shortcodes in the content.

Try using HTML widgets or blocks and leave out extra space/lines between the shortcodes.

Honestly, all I did was use the Classic Block that was already on the page as part of the V1 to V2 conversion. I just edited the shortcodes to try and make the page look how I wanted it to.

Is using the Gutenberg Blocks fine for the archive page? I assume it’s fine to do that, but all the blocks were in classic mode from the conversion, so I didn’t know if they had to stay that way.

Also, any insight on my second question?

Gutenberg boocks are fine but they each have different functionality. Try an HTML block instead, copy paste into those and delete the classic blocks and you should be good to go.

For #2, random is held in place for 24 hours so paging works to actually page the listings. You can change it with a snippet from this page.

2B is not really possible but you try featured as a subsort of random.

Awesome! Putting the shortcodes into an HTML block did the trick.

I was able to get 2A done as well. Thank you for your help.

As for 2B, I tried to make Featured a subsort of Random, but couldn’t get it to fall under Random as a subsort for some reason. Featured kept staying equal to Random, instead of becoming a dropdown. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m using Google Chrome as my browser, or if it was some other reason. I didn’t see a box I could check or anything to make it a subsort.

Otherwise, it seems to have turned out well. http://vegas.travelivery.com/places/category/shows-1/united-states/nevada/las-vegas-1/
