Is there a particular plugin I need to install to access the sidebar widget area for the search results page?

Right now I don’t see “GD search sidebar” or “GD search top” widget areas. This particular site is only using minimal plugins to take advantage of the events features GD offers. The site is http://www.DerekMcCoyMusic.com.

Attached are images to help with what I am trying to communicate.

    Thanks!

That is not the search page but the Listings page.

Go to GD > Design > Listings and activate the top section. You already have the sidebar active on the Listings pages.

The listing sidebar is in my widget area already. I have three widgets in it. When I select Events from the home page and go to http://derekmccoymusic.com/events/ I see all three widgets in the sidebar which are in the “GD Listing Right Sidebar”.

When I select a link from the CPT Categories widget on the events page the resulting page that comes up is the one that I am having issues with: http://derekmccoymusic.com/events/pistol-hill/?etype=upcoming. There is where I do not see the CPT Categories anymore.

I did as you suggested even though I did not understand the logic. I added a top section and this did not help. I still don’t see the CPT Categories widget on any of the results from the widget on the events page. And I don’t want anything in the top or bottom section. So, I’m still in the same situation.

This creates a problem because when someone selects something from CPT Categories widget on the events page the resulting page not having the CPT Categories to choose from doesn’t enable the visitor to easily understand how to go back and/or select a different category.

When I use the widget Popular Post Category in the listing sidebar everything works as it should. However, the problem with this widget is that it doesn’t display properly on phones if the category name is too long (see attached). I guess I’ll just live with this widget instead and just shorten the name…

It would be awesome though to have “all events” in the Popular Post Category widget as well so someone could easily see all from this widget as they’re using it. but that may be asking too much. This is probably fine…

In the CPT Categories widget, try ticking “Don’t filter for current viewing category”.
That should show all categories all the time.
