Thanks for offer of being given admin rights etc…

Right now I’ve deactivated GeoDirectory and installed another option to see if it will perform as expected so there is nothing for you to look at

search widget not displaying and other search tools can’t find dummy data – frustrated doesn’t begin to describe experience

I meant to say, in an informal way, that we need URL and LOGIN DETAILS in order to check, thanks.
You can send the details in a private reply so only the staff and you will see that.

Hi – the informal part is welcome. the pain in the derriere isn’t

I know it is next to impossible to fix a problem without seeing it etc, but my site is not static waiting for a solution. I’ve been activating / deactivating options to see what works what doesn’t, so giving you credentials is not practical.

I was just hoping that with 30,000 support tickets you’d have some experience and ‘clues’ why it would behave like that.

I’m considering wiping the network completely and restoring things from scratch. (yes, a lot of work). I probably need a new database. Deactivating/deleting GeoDirectory leaves about 500 instances of it in the DB tables.

With demo data the map was displaying on home page and then it was not loading. While testing reactivating GeoDirectory, clicking buttons in Multilocations to see if that was why, it crashed the network – twice. (VPS with power and high memory settings, low usage).

It seems to be working now, but stability and complexity are major concerns.

    Hi,

are you using CloudFlare by any chance? If yes we could have found the problem.

Even with 30k support tickets in the forum, new problems may come up every day, they could be related to other services (like coudflare) and could be restricted to very few members who host their websites in server with very peculiar settings.

That’s is why sometimes we need wp admin and even FTP credentials.

This is how it works with open source software, it cost nothing compared to closed technology, but it is also open to many more potential confilicts.

If you provide wp admin and FTP credentials, we can have a look and see if this problem is what we believe it is.

    Let us know,

    thanks

    thanks for offer of support

yes, use cloudflare, usually in ‘development mode’ when editing the site

I’ve parked geodirectory project for time being.

will restart on a different site, I’ll use your theme, and it won’t have hardly any other plugins and will be targeted location based visitors to avoid search confusion and friction. So should be more pure.
