GD Theme Integration Suggestion

    Hello,

    I recently tried to get GD to work with GeneratePress, once it’s very lightweight and well-built theme.
    Asking a few things for the GP Theme developer, he gave that suggestion for easing theme compatibility issues:

    “Wow, those are some complex instructions! I think they would benefit hugely from looking into how WooCommerce is approaching 3.2, which integrates smoothly into all themes without needing the hook or unhook anything.

    Their instructions look do-able, but it would take a long time to build that custom plugin.”

    Perhaps, the implementation of that approach could bring a new wave of possibilities in terms of theme options, attracting more clients to GD and making the authors richer every day!!!

    Hi Fabio,

    If you provide wp-admin details it usually takes us 2-3 minutes to add compatibility settings for any theme.

    In GDv2 we are doing things very differently, we hope even better then WC does it 🙂

    Hello Fabio,

    there are several classes that GD adds to each page it creates.

    Theme compatibility means looking for the classes and adjusting the CSS a bit to make for a good ‘look’.

    You can find these classes by looking for prefixes like “gd” and “geodir”.
