GD V2 add-on compatibility

    trying to install GDV2, when installing few add-ons, error message when trying to activate the add-on eg Marker Cluster and Google Map Styles.

    “There was an issue determining where GeoDirectory Plugin is installed and activated. Please install or activate GeoDirectory Plugin.”

    Please advise

    When activating Listing Manager V1.03 in GDv2 (freshly installed, not upgrade from V1),

    Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

    All addons must be for V2, they cannot be mixed and matched.

    oh, so if I want to use add-ons those available in V1, I have to use the older GD, right?

    Yes. We just released Claim Manager, they are all being updated just as fast as possible for V2.

    Do you have a schedule of completing V2 upgrade for all add-ons? As GD is not simply by clicking update to convert from V1 to V2, I do not want to take risk to build a project with V1 then upgrade to V2. They either stay in v1 or V2 from scratch. depending on your schedule.

    Marker Cluster, Listing Manager, and Booster are add-ons I need to use in project. These are not available in V2 yet

    Any idea? Cheers

    GDV2 has no GD home? Which page suppose to be the home page like in V1 where there is full width map.

    Booster will be retired with V1, and any cache plugin should work with V2.

    Other addons are in development and being made compatible as we speak. Claim Listing was released today.

    GDV2 has no home page, true, so you can add GD shortcodes to any WP page and set that as your WP Front Page or use a different page.

    GD Location and Search pages cannot be set as WP Front page.

    Full width widgets are the domain of the theme. Directory Starter and Supreme both feature a “Top” widget area with full width.

    They either stay in v1 or V2 from scratch. depending on your schedule.

    It is not a good idea at all.

    Especially because we will stop supporting V1 once V2 is officially released.

    You should consider upgrading all your website to V2 asap.

    Tried short codes from V1, only few working in V2?

    As my schedule is tight now, V2 seems very different to V1. Could you confirm the following?

    1. Can V1 be upgrade to V2 easily without risk? If so, I can finish off V1 production and upgrade when complete. Due to schedule, I am more comfortable to work with V1 at this stage. V2 GD setup panel is completely different to V1 which I have to study again, especially section like DESIGN in GD setup.

    2. What are the major improvement in V2? Performance? Features? Visual?

    3. How to clear all data completely in V1 (eg listings, location records etc but without removing defined categories)? V1 is pretty much completed, however, I need to clean up all data from DB and reloading new data. I find that if I truncate table in MySQL, some related data in other table still exists. Tried to tick the remove data when un-installing GD core (without removing add-ons) but doesn’t seem working.
