GD2 self created redundant location places

We have moved to a support ticketing system and our forums are now closed.

    I have location pages like this:

    example.com/type/hotel/usa/newyork
    example.com/type/hotel/usa/texas

    but GD2 created pages like these as well:
    example.com/usa/newyork
    example.com/type/usa/texas
    How do I disable these pages:?
    I know using robots.txt can do the trick but I have hundreds of locations which I dont think is a good idea to list all of them in robots.txt

    GD Doesn’t provide settings to remove those pages or links.

    Why are these pages created for? We already have complete locations with their own meta and contents.

    They are different templates.
    Location displays all the different CPTs in a location with GD Listings.
    Archive shows all of one CPT, and in categories.

    In google’s point of view for a GD2 site:
    Location = Archive

    Please try to think, one website is having two different indexed page for two same location. I know location shows all types of listing and archive only shows it’s own CPT listing but for many ‘less listing categories’, this can be issue. Google doesnt like two results from the same site especially when there are so many of them, this will hurt the site’s ranking.

    I really hope theres a solution on this as I cant start using GD2.

    I am thinking that it takes some effort to make the content on the location page unique, but that GeoDirectory provides you with tools to do that.

    They are not 2 different archives.

    The location page is the directory home page of each location. It is the starting point for 1 city, region or country.

    It can show top rated places, upcoming events, blog posts, and even products from e-commerce, tickets from a ticketing system and what not.

    The other is an archive of a single Custom post type for 1 location.

    The difference is huge, I’m sorry that you don’t see it.
