Hi,
1. Marker cluster
It seems there is no GDv2 for marker cluster, which means that I cannot upload the plugin content with ftp. What do I do with the marker cluster when converting to GDv2?
And once there is a GDv2 then what you you do with that ONE new plugin?2. Licence keys
Do you need to deactive the license keys (remove them) before you upgrade and then place them again after upgrade?3. Upgrade service.
Do you have a payed support to upgrade GDv1 to GDV2? I currently use:
Custom Post Types
Location Manager
Marker Cluster.
I do not have many posts since I am just in the beginning of using the GeoDirectory plugin (although everything is working) and now unfortunately I have to upgrade the GD version to be as up-to-date as possible.December 16, 2018 at 2:29 pm #4588551. We are working on Marker Cluster for v2 now, and it should be complete next week. You can upgrade/convert before or wait for the release, but you will need to redo the settings if you upload it after conversion.
2. No, that should not be necessary unless the URL changes.
3. You can contact an expert to help with that here; https://geodirectoryexperts.com/experts/December 17, 2018 at 3:22 pm #458998Thank you so much for your reply.
Just 2 more things regarding the transition.
1. You mention a wizard to be used with the conversion. But I just need the normal upgrade without importing extra content or other settings. How do you avoid the wizard?
2. You mention to deactivating other plugins but should the conversion not be possible without deactivating plugins? And do you have to deactivate the GDv1 plugins before installing the main GDv2 plugin?

December 18, 2018 at 2:52 pm #459175Hi,
Question 1:
Yes I have read that. But first it tells you to remove all GD plugins. If you have removed everything then how are you left with folders for the GD plugins (like custom post types) you have to move to a different folder with ftp and upload again to the original folders.
If all plugins are deleted then it seems there will be no folders to ftp to. That is what I do not understand.
Question 2:
Will the plugin that can speed up the GD system work with GDV1 or is that only developed for GSV2?
Question 3:
Will GDV1 keep being updated? with plugins?December 18, 2018 at 3:06 pm #459178In reards to question 2: Sorry I can see the GD booster is for GDv1 so please discard question no. 2. New question in this regards:
Will the GD booster be developed for GDV2 or will the new version work so fast that it is not needed? I presume you are doing great improvements since the new version is released. And thank you for your great work.
December 18, 2018 at 3:12 pm #459182In regards to question 1. Is there anyway you can add the “now remove this and now remove that” in the step by step overview.
December 18, 2018 at 5:01 pm #459198When plugins are downloaded they are zipped. They can be unzipped, and when they are they will have a folder named the same as the plugin. That folder and all the contents should be uploaded. So, if, first, the plugin folders are moved to a new parent folder called /backup, then the new plugin folder will not conflict with another folder of the same name.
GD Booster will be retired with GDV1. It is possible to use any WordPress cache plugin with V2.
GDV1 will only receive security updates once GDV2 is released and only for a limited time.

When you say to remove all custom work before the upgrade. Does that include the extra fields I have created under my custom post?
December 19, 2018 at 3:22 pm #459343And finally: I have made translations within the danish language file for GDv2. How does this work when going from GDv1 toGDv2?
December 19, 2018 at 3:23 pm #459344Sorry I ment danish language file for GDv1.
December 20, 2018 at 5:34 am #459385Hi Henriette,
Thanks for your post. You can refer to the link that explains all about translations in GD. https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/translation/overview/
December 20, 2018 at 12:04 pm #459436Thank you.
Question 1. I am still not sure how language files work when you go from GDv1 to GDv2. I am familiar with the files. I am unsure about if the language files I am using and have edited in GSv1 will remain when I install GSv2.?
Question 2. When you say to remove all custom work before the upgrade. Does that include the extra fields I have created under my custom post types?
December 21, 2018 at 5:36 am #4595531. The language files work exactly the same but you will need to update the ones you have. See https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/updating-your-language-files/
2. You should delete or deactivate any custom PHP coding your have. Nothing else. Your extra custom fields will get converted as part of the process.
Thanks
