    Dear GD support team,

while checking the functionality of GDv2 in my dev2 site I found the following problem:

    1. Frontend display & arrangement Problems
    a. The arrangement of featured listings is not matching with settings in the backend. No featured listings are displayed according to the setup.

    Screenshot backend: https://www.screencast.com/t/rP4lqiwb7TT
    URL: https://dev2.worldcheckin.com/#sd-home-scroll
    Settings URL: https://dev2.worldcheckin.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=216&action=edit&lang=en

    b. The featured banner is missing as an image banner at the listing itself. Usually the example Listing “Morimoto should be displayed in first position, but it is not found in homepage right now as it should as featured setup.

I am looking forward to your help.

Check to make sure the field “Featured” has been added to each CPT.
Then make sure the field is not excluded on the appropriate price package.

Thanks for providing a specific link. Morimoto is not marked featured because and the field has not been added to Gastronomies yet.

    Hi Guust,

thank you very much for the setup of test posts with “featured and new badget”.

My problem is as I am testing with this dev2 site before I go further to upgrade the main page from GDv1 to GDv2. Within this clone site GDv1 > GDv2 I have done the upgrade where featured price types setup has been made within GDv1 and the listing “morimoto” has been one of the featured listing price type setup too.

Now after the upgrade it seems that this featured price type is missing the featured banner and I do not know how to establish the same functionality as GDv1 setup has been made to be automatically setup for all featured and new listings in GDv2.

I do not want to establish the featured banner for individual listings. The featured banner shall be placed for all featured price types.

The “new” badget shall be place at all new listings and shall disappear after 30 days automatically.

How am I able to establish the same?

    Best, Alex

If you set up a featured package in V1 without any modifications, then that should completely convert the same to V2. The banner, listings and package settings will be converted correctly if there are no customizations.

What I did set up is not an individual “featured” but the package is featured. Check the settings of the package.

    Hi Guuest,

well I have done the upgrade as stated and also the featured price is setup for the listing “Morimoto” https://dev2.worldcheckin.com/gastronomies/united-states/new-york/new-york-city/restaurants/morimoto/ but still the featured banner is not reflecting at the listing.

Any ideas why or how to get all featured price types indicated with the featured banner?

    Best, Alex

The banner is now a GDV2 element called GD Post Badge.
Add that to your archive item or detail page template:

    Hi Guust,

I was trying to use your instructions from above and added the code

    [gd_post_badge key='featured' condition='is_not_empty' badge='FEATURED' bg_color='#fd4700' txt_color='#ffffff' css_class='gd-ab-left-angle gd-badge-shadow']

within “GD Archive Item” but still I am getting not the banner badget result of featured image you have in your example > Screenshot > https://www.screencast.com/t/wwpe5UNq4w

As well if I am arranging the listings with featured also I cannot find the “Morimoto” listing as well.

    Here my queries:
    1. What is in need to establish the same featured banner arrangement as you did in your example?
    2. Where are your code snippets stored to be able to add also customized once into that area? Sceenshot > https://www.screencast.com/t/5fAZlKcWGhbb
    3. Is there a code snippet overview available to explain which are available and what they do when used?

    Best, Alex

    1. Follow the steps at https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/featured-listings/

Did you add the “Featured” custom field?
Did you make sure NOT to exclude it from the price package?

    2. There are no code snippets required.

    3. There are no code snippets required.

    Thanks

    Hi Guust,

    great – it works now!!!

How am I able to create own customized fields like “featured” to be used as Predefined Fields within custom fields settings?

P.S. I am also on the way to enable GT-Vouchers for GDv2 to use the same option to display voucher banners within specific price types, like it is used for featured listing price type.

    That is explained here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/custom-field-improvements-in-new-v1-6-6/

I’ll get the developers to confirm the process is the same as in V1.

    Thanks

PS: you can use any custom field the same was as “Featured”, all you need to do is add the badge shortcode to create a badge for that field, see https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/featured-listings/#badge-setup
