The options are different because your “capacity” field is not a SELECT field but a MULTISELECT field.
Only SELECT fields can be added to the search bar itself. Other fields can be added to the custom search, but not the search bar. From https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-search/#select
Select custom fields can also be added to the search bar – but only Select, not Multiselect or any other, they can only be added to the Customized Search section as explained above.
You should not update GD Core if you do not intend to update your addons: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/what-is-the-best-way-to-update-the-gd-plugins/
Thanks
November 13, 2017 at 10:55 am #405056I have managed to add a new custom field to my search bar.
However I am still having issues with the search on this page – http://www.hospitalityandeventsnorth.com/
For instance if I select capacity 200-300, type conference into the ‘search for’ box and type ‘Leeds’ into the near field then i just get a blank page (see screenshot)
I don’t really need the ‘search for’ box can this be removed?
The ‘near’ option does not seem to work properly either as it brings up venues all over the country if I just type in Leeds.
Please assist as soon as you can, thanks.
November 13, 2017 at 12:02 pm #405067Can you please update your Location Manager addon first, it seems to be the location search that is breaking your search.
See https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/installing-addons/#updatesFor your question about hiding the “Search for” field, see https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/common-styling-examples/#search-field
Thanks
November 13, 2017 at 12:25 pm #405072Hi,
Does that mean I have to pay again to renew? It’s a bit annoying having to pay for updates every time the software breaks
Thanks,
Rory
November 13, 2017 at 10:47 pm #405139Don’t you have a current license at https://wpgeodirectory.com/your-account/ ?
The reason is not that the software breaks, but because all plugins are only guaranteed to work with the latest version of WordPress, other plugins etc, to make sure there are no bugs and all security risks are taken care of.
If you do not want to update one plugin, you should not update the others either, see more at https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/what-is-the-best-way-to-update-the-gd-plugins/
Thanks
November 13, 2017 at 11:43 pm #405145Hi,
OK I paid for the plugin again but when I try to delete the previous version of location manager to update it won’t allow me and I get an error above starting with this code-
Deletion failed: <!DOCTYPE html> <!–[if IE 8]> <![endif]–> <!–[if !(IE 8) ]><!–> <!–<![endif]–> ‹ Hospitality and Events North — WordPress addLoadEvent = function(func){if(typeof jQuery!=”undefined”)jQuery(document).ready(func);else if(typeof wpOnload!=’function’){wpOnload=func;}else{var oldonload=wpOnload;wpOnload=function(){oldonload();func();}}}; var ajaxurl….
The WP easy update plugin doesn’t seem to be doing anything.
If I delete the plugin via FTP will the location data be retained on the site database?
Thanks,
Rory
November 14, 2017 at 1:28 am #405147There is never a need to delete a plugin before updating: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/what-is-the-best-way-to-update-the-gd-plugins/
The WP Easy Updates is required to add licenses and allowing to update.
Your Location Manager is quite old, so needed manual updating. Please check now.
Thanks
