Just started using the WordPress Core version and would be only too glad to purchase the pro version but not until I can make the free version work! Right now I get the Geocoding request denied message while trying to add new places to the directory. I am also unable to complete a new listing with just a street address.

I checked with Google and they assured me everything is correct from their end, so it’s up to you. Any help appreciated.

I also keep getting the same issue.
“Geocode was not successful for the following reason: REQUEST_DENIED”
I included the attached screenshot. It happens when i try to make an event. No matter what i do i get the same error.

    Hello,

the Geocoding request error means that your API key doesn’t have access to the appropriate APIs.

There are two settings for API keys for GeoDirectory. It is best to make sure to setup the second key and to manually configure access to the Geocoding and timezone APIs to make sure they are enabled.

All the settings are covered here for key 2

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/integrations/google/#key-2

You can verify the errors on your site by viewing them in the chrome console.

I added the second key as described, though the page you directed me to doesn’t look like the page I see.

No change, the site still won’t accept street addresses, only long. & lat. addresses.

You say look at the chrome console. I’m not sure where that is or how to find it. Google is no help with that either.

This is supposed to be a no-code plugin and should not be so hard to set up. I’ve set up other geo-type programs such as the Time.ly calendar and there is no difficulty with addresses.

    Hello,

In the last year Google has made several changes to their Cloud Console and though it may be easier to setup a key than before, it is still difficult.

If you would like us to take a look at the error on your site, please grab a membership and we will try to get to the bottom of the issue.

Premium support for free users is only available for sites running the core addon alone.
