GeoDirectory V1 -> V2: Migration created duplicate cities (URLs end with -1, -2)

    I converted my website from WP GeoDirectory V1 to V2. During the migration, a number of my cities ended up with a number on the end.

    I believe this is due to the fact that the same city name exists in multiple states/regions.

    How should I go about fixing this issue in the database?

    If there is more than 1 city with the exact same name in the database, the number at the end is added by WordPress and it should have been there in v1 too. It’s impossible to have two identical slugs insinde the database.

    I think this is a flaw within the WP Geodirectory plugin because there are multiple instances of cities with the same name in multiple states.

    In my case, I only ever refer to a location within a state+city+office URL.

    I removed the trailing numbers from all of the “duplicate” cities within the WordPress database. This triggered a WP Admin warning but I haven’t noticed any other issues on my site.

    Is it possible to disable this warning?

    Like Paolo explains, this is a WordPress issue, not a GD issue.
    If you use the same slug for different cities, then you run the risk that some pages no longer work, because the slug determines partly what content is served.
    To disable WordPress warnings, you can contact WordPress.
