    Hello,

I have been reading my old thread https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/geolocation-question/ before asking the following new questions about geolocation:

    1) Which accuracy has GeoDirectory geolocation in mobile devices?
    2) How GeoDirectory geolocation works in mobile devices? Is IP and/or GPS based?
    3) How GeoDirectory geolocation will work in the forthcoming GeoDirectory app?
    4) Would it be possible to know already some details about the app?

    5) I would like to do this:

Sending push notifications to specific users depending of their real time location according to the preferences and times they will have previously configured. For example: if they configured that they want to be notified of nearby restaurants between 1 pm to 3 pm within a 100 meters distance, they would star receiving notifications from 1 pm while they walk in the streets every time that a new restaurant enters into the 100 meters distance.

Also, sending safety notifications depending of geolocation. For example: “beware with pickpockets”.

Will something like this be possible with the GeoDirectory app? Is it already possible without the app?

I look forward to your reply.

Thank you very much once again for your attention.

    Best regards.

    Hello,

GeoDirectory uses browser services to request location. Phone apps do something similar to request location from the phone itself.

Phone location is usually more accurate for mobile apps because it is not IP based, where browser geolocation usually is IP based.

More news about the app will be coming in the future.
