GeoTheme to GeoDirectory ?

    I remember quite a while ago now being told that a Geotheme to GeoDirectory import tool was being created. Is there any update on this yet?

    Hi,

    I’m really sorry, but that was being developed by Vikas (who is no longer with us) so it was put aside.

    We will have to start it from scratches.

    I’ll ask Stiofan and Kiran to look into it asap.

    I think the problem with creating this tool has to do with the address data – in Geotheme the Country, Region, State and Zip data is all in one field, that doesn’t work for Geodirectory which needs them to be separate and I doubt there’s a simple (or even possible) way to parse the data, so… we’ll probably never see that tool! I hope I’m wrong, but I doubt it 🙁

    There are several ways to do it, some more resource intensive than other and for big sites might have to be chunked into smaller export sizes. We will know more soon.

    Any advice would be really really welcome. Hoping to switch site across to GeoDirectory very soon and would like to keep the work involved in copying content across to a bare minimum.
