Hey,
Just tried updating and got an error “Download failed. Unauthorized” for two plugin updates. Thoughts?
December 20, 2019 at 9:54 am #522527Hi riobravomedia,
Thanks for your message. Could you please try deactivating and activating the license key and see if it helps?
Thanks!
December 21, 2019 at 4:11 pm #522682that worked on one site but not the other one. Seems this issue has started since I upgraded from a 4 month subscription to the yearly just recently. In this last site I deactivated the license twice and reentered it… it still hasn’t updated.
Note: also something was kinda strange with the first site update. It was showing that two GD plugin updates were waiting. I deactivated the license and reactivated it and without updating the plugins they now showed they were updated.
December 21, 2019 at 4:18 pm #522683Ahhh… I followed the link from the failed plugin update and it took me to a page to update the 4 month plan. So for some reason it is not recognizing the new subscription license key.

https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/addons/installing-addons/As long as an individual key can be deactivated, you should be able to get going. Deactivate the key, refresh the page, add your new key to that individual plugin, then activate.
December 21, 2019 at 6:42 pm #522700Alex,
so simple as that? really Gosh Alex I just told you I did that 4 times and it is not working. Otherwise I wouldn’t be bothering you with a non-issue cause it would have worked. I have better things to do and I know you do too but I am here in support because this is not working. Have a great day!
December 21, 2019 at 6:45 pm #522701I admit it can be a bit confusing. As the doc says the membership license isn’t retroactive. To update existing individual plugins you can either deactivate and reactivate the keys (I always refresh the page in between) or update them manually as described here:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/addons/installing-addons/#manual
December 22, 2019 at 11:31 am #522757Alex, the only thing that is confusing is why I can’t get you to understand this is an issue that is not resolving itself no matter how many times I clear the cache, refresh the page, deactivate and reactivate the license key etc. I have reached out to Stiofan in the FB group to see if he can assist me since you don’t seem to want to deal with this.
December 22, 2019 at 6:15 pm #522775This reply has been marked as private.December 22, 2019 at 9:16 pm #522793I did the following:
Advanced search filters on plugins page
deactivate license
reference
add my own individual license for Advanced Search filters, activate
refresh
click update
(updated)
deactivate licenseAs mentioned in the linked doc above, membership keys are not retroactive. For them to work for updates/licensing you have to delete plugins and re-install them through the extensions panel. Otherwise you use individual licenses, which is what I did.
Again, apologies for the confusion. I have tried to make it clear in the docs. The developers plan a ‘revamp’ of the licensing, it is on the roadmap.
BTW the FB group is not for support tickets, please always post those here.
December 23, 2019 at 11:10 am #522847Thanks Alex…. I am not Australian but all I can say is “That is Bloody inconvenient as hell”
The curious thing is that like I mentioned I didn’t have to do this with my other site…but maybe there is an underlying issue.
Do I need to reinstall every “Bloody” Plugin now that I updated?
December 23, 2019 at 12:59 pm #522862No, you can add the individual licenses, like I explained above.
I have done the uninstall and re-install before. It can take longer but with bulk actions can be done in 10 minutes or so.
January 9, 2020 at 9:04 am #524763I just need to verify this please. See screenshots
I currently have basically two identical GD sites. And as you well remember my issues above with the licensing. Just trying to confirm that I am not having an ongoing issue with one of these. Thanks
One is showing the green “License key” link and the other isn’t. Is there a problem with this one?
January 9, 2020 at 10:32 am #524769The Google Analytics addon does not require a license.
We have released a plugin that does basically the same thing (but that does not include the Pricing Manager integration).
