Hi,
I’m trying to get Google Analytics up and running but have encountered a problem. I’m at this stage:
“Authorized redirect URIs”: Enter your website address followed by the same specific URL ex: ‘http://www.mysite.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=geodir_ga_callback’
I’ve copy and pasted that into the correct area in the Developers Console (obviously with my website in place of ‘mysite’ but am getting the following error message when I try and ‘authorise’ it on the wordpress dashboard:
The redirect URI in the request: http://foddex.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=geodir_ga_callback did not match a registered redirect URI.
I’m really not all that computer savy and have struggled to get this far. This is a lot more complicated than I was expecting. What do I need to do to fix this? I have had no data from my site since it launched a week ago.
February 9, 2016 at 12:36 pm #119867Look at step 5 of the instructions: “Note: match it exactly to the URL of you site, so if your site does not use WWW, leave it out.”
Is that the error?https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-core-plugin-google-analytics/
February 11, 2016 at 4:46 am #120698Thank you! I don’t know why I thought it did contain ‘www’. Thanks for your help.

February 15, 2016 at 12:31 am #122221Sorry I’m still having issues with this. I updated everything, I’ve authorised it on the WordPress dashboard, but it’s still not working. I get this error message as well when I go into a listing:
‘Google Analytics
{“error”:{“errors”:[{“domain”:”global”,”reason”:”invalidParameter”,”message”:”Invalid value ‘116005332’. Values must match the following regular expression: ‘ga:[0-9]+'”,”locationType”:”parameter”,”location”:”ids”}],”code”:400,”message”:”Invalid value ‘116005332’. Values must match the following regular expression: ‘ga:[0-9]+'”}}’I tried to do as much as I could but this is a bit beyond me now.
February 15, 2016 at 2:01 am #122226That looks like you did not enter the Profile ID correctly, it needs the ga: in front, see https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-core-plugin-google-analytics/
February 17, 2016 at 1:18 am #123517I’ve gone through and updated that. I’ve double checked that I’ve done everything else correctly. I’m now getting the following error message:
Google Analytics
{“error”:{“errors”:[{“domain”:”usageLimits”,”reason”:”accessNotConfigured”,”message”:”Access Not Configured. The API (Google Analytics API) is not enabled for your project. Please use the Google Developers Console to update your configuration.”,”extendedHelp”:”https://console.developers.google.com”}],”code”:403,”message”:”Access Not Configured. The API (Google Analytics API) is not enabled for your project. Please use the Google Developers Console to update your configuration.”}}
– See more at: http://foddex.com/places/moonee-ponds/dietitian/nick-dunn-diet-solutions/#sthash.0mDDqBiF.dpufI followed all the steps on the support article about establishing the Client ID, so I’m not sure how it’s not configured.
This seems to be a really difficult task just to start google analytics. I’ve used other platforms before and all I had to do was enter a tracking ID. Nothing else.
What do I need to do to fix this?
February 17, 2016 at 1:20 am #123518I think I just realised I’m talking about something different.
Is this how I am able to check on my traffic data within Google Analytics? When I login to Google Analytics there is no traffic data for this site. Is this solution for a different problem?
February 17, 2016 at 4:41 pm #123735Hi,
this is to show the statistic to listing owners directly on their listing. Not just to track your website on google analytics website. For that you just need to add the tracking code in GD>Google Analytics>Google analytics tracking code.
Please see: https://wpgeodirectory.com/front-end-google-analytics/
If you follow the documentation with care, it’s not that difficult to set this up.
Thanks
February 18, 2016 at 12:40 am #123917Hi Paolo,
I have tried to follow the documentation in both forms but the problem with your instructions and video is that the developer’s console you describe and show is not the developer’s console I’m seeing. I don’t know if they’ve changed their layout since you did the video or if I see a different version, but I have to piece together your instructions because they are completely different.
I’ve finally got it working but, frankly, that’s almost despite the instructions provided. I’m not sure why there is such a difference in the steps you show and the reality of getting it done.
I have the data now for individual pages. How do I get the data for my homepage?
February 18, 2016 at 12:52 pm #124078The GD Google analytics settings are only to show statistics to listing owners directly on their listing.
Google has indeed changed the setup steps, so we updated https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-core-plugin-google-analytics/
If you want to track all of your site, you can add the GA tracking code at GD > Design > scripts > Footer script code
February 18, 2016 at 9:29 pm #124365Thanks Guust.
The previous link was to the told set up hence my confusion and frustration.
This all seems to be settled now.
Thanks for the assistance.
