    Hi
Google is showing the wrong location for my event despite all the info showing the correct address in Geo Directory. What could be the issue with this?

    Hi
I’ve amended the address slightly and that seems to have resolved it but I still do not know why it was showing another town when the address and co-ordinates were clearly correct?

    Hi eic2010,

Thanks for your post. It looks like you’re using Openstreetmap. Try switching to Google Map and see if it gives you accurate results.

Yes, if you want to share data out through Google it will help to use the same maps api. Google will use the lat lon and serve up what they think is accurate (for the same reasons you would want the same).

    Hi
I thought that Geo Directory worked with Openstreetmaps? I changed from Google Maps due to them intoducing new charges as I know many other people did and was advised that Open Street Maps was a good alternative. The Lat and Lon entered in Openstreetmaps were correct as I checked so I don’t know why it would show a different town. So are you saying that Openstreetmaps wont work now?

    Hi eic2010,

Thanks for your reply. Could you try searching the location using the map here https://www.openstreetmap.org and compare the results on your Website?

Yeah I did that, it shows the correct address and my website shows the correct address but in Google the town is coming up differently as shown in screen shots above. I have amended it slightly and resubmitted as I did previously and hope that fixes things but I am obviously concerned as there are many other entries on my site using openstreetmaps. The addresses are showing correctly both in the backend and frontend but its in Google events where the discrepancy arises.

    Hi eic2010,

Thanks for your reply. Google map and openstreetmap.org are different so the results cannot be compared.

Thanks but it still doesnt explain why the town would be different? In the backend the town was correct and it showed correctly on the website and the Latitude and Longitude were correct, and the map showed the correct town. But for some reason a different town showed in Google events and I do not know where it would have got this information from?

Google took the lat/lon and analyzed it and decided the town was different. Google will do what they will with your data. You should contact Google about it as this is not a GD issue.
