    Hi

Just curios to know if GD has done any exhaust testing on performance with large quantity of records, eg in few millions minimum? If so, how’s the performance in retrieving and search?

Will Super Cache etc plugin helps?

    Thanks

    Sam

The performance with more and more listings is dependent on the server capacity and capability.
GD is capable to handle millions of listings, if your server can.
Tests have been done with more than a million listings, if I remember correctly, a while ago.
If you have any issues when adding large amounts of listings, contact us.
    Thanks

Servers nowadays should have no problem to handle millions of records. Just the performance side. I have tried Geo Booster, but cannot see significant difference. Currently, I have only 10k -20k records in every CPT, loading took a bit too long, between 15s – 30s to reload front page. Any suggestion to improve performance?

    Thanks

    Hi Kai Liu,

Thanks for your reply. Maybe you’ve hit your server resources limit? Check out the requirements here and see if it helps. https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/server-requirements/

If you can provide wp-admin i will check if there are any specific queries causing problems on the home page or if its resources.

If you could also provide the server specifications it will help so see if its powerful enough for the number of listings/plugins you have.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

Unless you are on a powerful dedicated server or an auto-scaling cloud hosting, the abive statement is incorrect.

Just FYI, shared servers and even most VPS will not be able to handle millions of listings and heavy traffic.

    Thank you

thanks all, will get a dedicated cloud server as suggested from you guys, cloudway.

By the way, is number of CPU core matters to run GD? Some one told me that number of core is not important for WP as it is single thread process. Any comment?

I know ram is definitely the more, the better. But what is suggested RAM for handling millions of listings? 2,4 even 8GB of ram?

What you need depends on so many factors, i would just start low and work your way up as you add more listings and keep and eye on speeds and CPU/ram usages.

If i were running a site with over a million listings i’d want a server with at least 32GB ram but again it depsnds on visitor numbers and the plugins you have installed so its not a absolute.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan
