    Is there a way to have the background of the header a slider with image links to events or cpts? I would like to create a wide variety of images that when clicked would go to their CPT listings page.

    Then…at the Cpt listing page the map would then be visible above the listings.

    You could add a slider plugin/widget below the header on relevant pages, where you add slides with links.
