Hide region part of url?

    Hi,

    We are building a national site that will contain activities from different cities in one country so we have “Enable default country”, “Hide country part of url”, “Enable multi regions” and “Enable multi cities” checked under “Settings” > “Location”. Is there any way we could hide/remove the region part while keeping the multiple cities structure?
    (in our case, region listings/pages will only be duplicates of the one city that will represent that region )

    You cannot do that for the Location pages or Archive pages, but you can for the Detail pages.
    Have a look at WP Settings > Permalinks.

    Yes, I had that setup for details pages but I fear our site will be stamped “duplicate content” because of both region and cities pages.
    We use Yoast and I can see that we can exclude various locations pages, which is great but what I really would like is to keep the gd_placecategory_location_region_city-sitemap.xml (this will be very important for our SEO) while at the same time exclude: gd_placecategory_location_region-sitemap.xml which is only going to mean duplicate content

    Granular settings for that are not available. If there is a workaround the developers will let us know, otherwise this would require your own customization.

    Hi anders,

    “Hide region part of url” on archive listing links only works with default region setting.
