    Hi Guys

I seem to having a issue with members logging in and it updating the homepage.

I am using v2 geodirectory & plugins with supreme. I am also using userswp for member logins.

In the wordpress primary menu I have the userswp “login” option (for logged out users) and “account” option (for logged in users). If a user goes from the homepage and clicks “login” link from the menu it correctly redirects them to the userswp login form and once signed in the user is redirected to the homepage and the menu correctly changes to “account”.

However, if the user comes from another page (for example a CPT search) and clicks the “login” link from the menu it correctly redirects them to the userswp login form and once signed in the user is correctly redirected to the page they originally come from, which has the menu correctly changed to “account”. If you then go to homepage though this information has not been updated and the menu will still show a “login” link (any other page correctly shows the “account” link. Clicking the refresh button on the homepage correctly updates it to show the “account” link.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Thanks in advance

    Extra info :
I have de-activated all plugins except geodirectory v2 and userswp and still get the same outcome.
I even de-activated all plugins except userswp and still got the same issue.
I have also tried changing themes and still got the issue.
Never had this issue on v1 using the v1 versions of plugins

    Additional note
If I change the login redirect in the backend (under the userswp –> login) to the homepage then when a user logs in it redirects them to the homepage and the “login” is updated to “account”. Obviously this is not idea as generally logging in should take you to the last page visited.

    Hi Nathan,

It seems your home page is cached by your hosting. You have not used any caching plugin so it is not from the WP side. Can you please check from your cPanel that if the cache is enabled or not? Because when we hard refresh the home page after login it shows logout button so it means your homepage is served from caching all the time.

The code you copied from V1 is handled by the GDV1 plugin only so you need to copy that handling code as well. UsersWP is not handling it and that is why it displays error on the first attempt.

    Regards,
    Patrik

    Hi Patrik

    Thanks for looking into this.

I am hosting with virtual shared server using Godaddy. From what I have read/see they do not have caching enabled on this type of plan. I have another website, hosted on the same server, which is using GDV1 together with Userswp and this site does not have the issue I am experiencing on the GDV2 site. The GDV1 site doesn’t have a WP caching plugin either so not sure why/how it would be caching on one site and not the others. This is why I was leading towards the issue being WP side, although this isn’t my area of expertise.

Could it have anything to do with GDV1 having a predefined homepage which somehow refreshes the cache?

Looking forward to any additional input / suggestions.

Also, would you be able to point me to the area where the handling code is stored?

    Thanks

Extra note, it appears to do the same thing on the Geodirectory location’s page. Not sure if that helps at all

    Hi,

I would suggest you contact GoDaddy regarding caching of pages. I don’t think this is something from any of our plugin. They will guide you best on this. If they reply anything related our plugins then please let us know and we will help you with more debugging.

Please look into this link where there are settings for cache given by Beaver Builder plugin: http://eventseasier.co.uk/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=fl-builder-settings#tools

It shows that it clears the cache created by Godaddy hosting.

    Regards,
    Patrik

    Hi Patrik

Just to let you know I was never able to resolve this issue with godaddy.

Instead I cloned a old website which used GDV1 and converted it to GDV2 and somehow that works.

You can mark this as resolved as it probably isn’t a theme or plugin issue.

    Thanks
