    Personally I’d avoid WordPress Managed Hosting for any WordPress application website. They all have more or less the same limitations. However, the new MediaTemple WordPress Managed service apparently supports PHP Sessions and Cookies. But I don’t think they have servers in Europe.

    We use http://hetzner.de/en dedicated servers and we have an Italian system administrator managing them.

    This is similar to what we use for this website : http://www.hetzner.de/en/hosting/produkte_rootserver/px70

    They also offer managed dedicated server, this is their entry level: http://www.hetzner.de/en/hosting/produkte_managed/mx90

    I can’t give feedback about it, because we never used their managed service.

    @manilaboy,

    Did you take your site http://www.maidclassifieds.com down? I tried to go there and give you some credit as I am leaning toward LightenBase for hosting.

    Ok, help. Newbie here to GeoDirectory and WPEngine — I just created an account with them last night and I’m about to start on my site.

    If it’s not going to work with GD then now is the time for me to switch. I have no allegiances to WPEngine or any other host. I’m bootstrapping this first project and I’m also not techie enough (yet) to work out these issues with my host as some of you are so I don’t have tech help. It will be a small hyperlocal site but I do need geolocation and multi-city and muti-region.

    So, what hosts are the best choices for GeoDirectory?

    Excited to get going and thrilled to be here. 🙂

    Happy New Year!

    MC was just one of my test sites and I already took it down. I have multiple GD sites with Lightning Base and I also have non-GD sites with them.

    Hi birdie,

    Maid Classifieds is up and it’s almost done. We will soon launch it.

    I’m trying to figure out how to add a job board to it.
