    I am trying to create a custom shortcode or snippet that will create a new tab on the CPT . I need to be able to add html content to that tab. How should I do this?

    Create a HTML custom field at Places [or other CPT] > Settings > Custom Fields.
    Add that field as a tab at Places [or other CPT] > Settings > Tabs.

    Yes, I have tried that multiple times and unable to do so. It is not showing up on the tabs in the backend or front.
