How to make Premium accounts show up first …

    Hi,

    We have 2 types of clients: 1. Premium and 2.Free
    Right now at the home page, both account holders are coming up randomly. We’d like to know how to make the Premium accounts show up first in the home page by default and for all searches also. This info will be very helpful. Thanx in advance.

    You can filter based on several variables like “featured”. If paid listings are featured, you can easily create a GD Listings shortcode that will show only featured.

    Also, in GD’s sorting options, you can set Featured as the first sort, to make those featured/paid listings first.

    Search results are by relevance, and featured is given extra ‘relevance’ points, so featured listings are ranked higher than another listing, all else being equal.

    The method described here only works for sorting on archive pages.

    Widgets and Shortcodes only have the sorting options available in the shortcode itself and do not use custom fields for sorting.

    To mark ‘many’ listings as featured you can export them, edit the CSV, and re-import. Be sure to mark “update” when you import them.
