    Hi! I need to remove titles, especially from the archives. I’m using generate press, and I plan on creating hooks with custom headers for categories.

    Thanks!

    Hi Derek,

    FYI your titles are not displaying corectly as you likely have Yoast instaleld and would need to change them there or you can set to let GD set the titles for the GD pages under the titles and metas setting.

    If you want to remove the titles you would hide with css or use the WP title filter to blank it, or both.

    css might be something like:

    body.geodir-archive .entry-title{display:none;}

    I don’t think Yoast can change the titles, only the seo meta titles, which I already have set how I want. I’m a little confused. I’ll try to have GD set the titles…hopefully it doesn’t change my meta settings. I’ll report back with what worked or not. Thanks.

    Yeah Yoast only allows the seo meta title to be changed, while GD has separate fields for “Title,” and “Meta Title.” Seems weird that GD would have editing the page titles disabled when Yoast is enabled because page titles are completely different then the Meta Titles handled by Yoast. Might I suggest a change in direction with this and separate the page titles from the meta settings in GD?

    I’m VERY new at PHP…would you know how I can create a filter to blank it completely? If not I guess I’ll just have to hide it with css..no choice. Thanks!

    We do not provide customization services in the forum.

    You should read up on Yoast: https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/titles-and-meta-descriptions/

    I think I understand what you mean, but thats not possible for GD categories because if you click to edit a category page, it will just bring up the “edit place category” where you can only edit the “name.” GD isn’t using the name, instead its using “GD Archive.” I’ve already visited Yoast’s search appearance settings for the meta changes, but there is not option to change the actual page title name, only the seo meta titles.

    No worries though, the above css works for now.
