How to totally change the current theme to be GeoDirectory theme?

    Hello,
    I would like to totally change the current theme of my web site to be similar to the Demo GeoDirectory http://wpgeo.directory/, just add a photo slider above the Google map, How should i do please?

    And is it possible to keep the current theme being activated while creating new one?

    Hi, you need to activate the theme twentytwelve and add a slider widget about the map widget in the home page top section widget area.

    No you can’t keep your current theme active while you work on another theme.

    You can do that if you use a production website and a development website.

    I have used it on some sites – when having a test site was not need or warranted.

    and I have a site that i don’t use it any more, but it is on Joomla, can i use it as a test site and change it on WordPress? If yes, how can i transfer it on WordPress?

    Hi Tammy,

    Yes you can take your old joomla website, install wordpress on it and use it as a development website.

    However we can’t really give you generic support on how to use wordpress or joomla here. A quick search on google will pull thousands of website talking about how to move a joomla website to a wordpress website.

    In this forum We can give you support on how to use GeoDirectory only and you are supposed to know at least the basics of wordpress to be able to do that.

    One altrernative to a test website that I can suggest as solution to your problem, is to install a maintenance plugin that will present a coming soon page to your visitor, while you change theme and modify your website.
