id field for new listings

Hello,

What are the standards for generating the ‘id’ field when adding a new listing? Is there a way to have GeoDir create the id if not what would be your recommendation for generating the id via my app before sending a POST request?

WordPress will generate the ID automatically, sequentially.

It is not possible to generate the ID, it must be done by WP.
