Image in WP search results

    Hi, I am using a custom image field (image_test) for the hero listing image, which is being displayed using [gd_post_meta] instead of [gd_post_images] on the detail page. This is being done, to avoid the fallback order for the hero image. This is working for me on the archive and detail page as I require.

    However, since i am not using the post_images field, the WP search results page shows the listings without the image. Is there a way i can get the image_test image to show on WP search results also?

    Not as far as I know. I will flag your question for the developers but I think we provide a snippet to remove GD Listings from WP search

    Hello Vivek,

    You can try [gd_post_meta] shortcode with image_test key at Pages > GD Archive Item > [gd_post_images].

    Thanks, Alex. I do want to have the GD listings (along with BP activity, blog posts etc) in the WP search, so do not want to remove these. I am also limiting the image count to 1.

    However, if there is no way to show the “image_test’ as the Featured Image, then I shall just have to live with showing the listings without the images in the WP search.

    Thanks, Kiran – yes i am using [gd_post_meta key=”image_test”] in the detail hero image becuse there i do not want to have fallback in case user does not upload an image.
    However in archive item i DO want the fallback in case user has not uploaded an image,so i am using [gd_post_images types=”image_test”] – that shortcode triggers fallback in case custom field is empty
    (further i also tried [gd_post_meta key=”post_images” show =’value”], but that does not output anything)

    But my issue here is not with Archive item, as the GD archive and GD search page are ok. My issue is about setting image_test as the ‘featured image” for wordpress search results.
