image replicated many time in library

    Hi

    I had a guest upload a post as a test. On their actual page they uploaded 10 images and the display fine. However when i look in the media library i see two of the images but there are about 25 copies of each image (see screen shoot) The other 8 images arent in the media library.

    So,
    1. Why are there so many copies of these two images?
    2. Why arent the other images in the media library? are the stored somewhere else?

    Hi again

    I found in another post that the images are stored in a separate data base so my Q2 above has been answered. But you surely dont create near to 50 version of the featured image right?

    Hi diggerdog,

    Thanks for your post. When you upload images to the listing, WP will generate multiple image sizes as explained here https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/design/images/#intro .

    Hi Kor,

    so my attached screen shot is normal? I understand WP has several different sizes for various screen sizes but there are about 50 copies of just 1 image.

    The images aren’t scaled either, they are all the same size.

    And now all the images are back again. Ive no idea what is going on here. I await your devs ideas when they are back.

    Is this resolved?

    If there is not an issue where adding a new image creates copies then we cannot see the issue.

    Hi Alex

    No this isn’t resolved yet. All the images momentarily vanished but then they came back. I am still seeing 50 versions of the one image as shown in the original screen shot at the top of the thread.
    The login above should still be good if you want to check.

    Hi Kiran

    Unfortunately I am not sure how to replicate it as it was uploaded by a customer and not me. She didn’t upload the images 50 times though. I see your listing was posted with no issue. Maybe the only thing to do is to just keep an eye on future listings and see if the issue reoccurs.
