I am trying to import a CSV that has 630 records. It stops importing on different records each time so I know it is not a strange character. The host is Amazon… so it can’t be due to an under powered server.

    Problem seems similar to https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/max-of-records-per-csv-upload/

When it stops importing, the rest of the site will be unresponsive for 5-10 min.

I take that back… After the last import attempt, it has been down for 30 min and counting.

Can you post URL, admin details and a copy of the CSV (ZIP it?).
Then we can have a look.

    Hi,

    1) default category should be an ID, not the catgegory name.
    2) post regions names must be full names not abbreviations.

Once you fix these 2 things it should work correctly.

    Let us know,

    Thanks

    Hi,

I’ve double checked and you are correct about the default category. You can leave the names.

I’m checking the CSV to identify other errors.

    Thanks

    Hi,

there are several non utf-8 characters in that file: see image attached.

They are all spaces, so you should be able to do a search and replace and clean them up.

To find similar errors, you could use a text editor like http://www.gedit.org/

Let us know how you went,

    Thanks
